Legacy Dream Space & Interference Arts hosted Anar and Healing to Hope in Studio 212 at the California Building during their US tour in June 2025. Anar is a nonprofit organization, based in Bethlehem and operating in the West Bank, that aims to break the cycle of intergenerational trauma and provide healing for Palestinian children and caregivers experiencing ongoing Israeli occupation and violence. Anar was founded by Rami Khader, and Anar’s innovative approaches include community-based psychosocial support hubs, youth mentorship programs, and creative healing practices for children. Sarah Myers, executive director of Healing to Hope, Anar’s sister organization in the US, has worked with Rami on many projects in the past and has just led the creation of this US-based organization to publicize and support Anar.

This was the first opportunity that we had to apply the Legacy Dream Space concept and creative/technological infrastructure to the goals and content of another organization, and it was tremendously successful. Approximately 75 people attended the studio event, and attendees were able to experience the work that Anar does in an immersive and interactive way. Children and adults were invited to participate in creative maker activities so they could directly experience how Anar works to integrate art making and healing practices throughout the West Bank.
